About Andrea Bradley
In December 2000 I decided to travel Australia after finishing my Diploma of Hospitality Management in Sydney. Having travelled nearly all around the world on Cruise Ships and Tall Ships my goal was to complete a sail training course before leaving Australia. The Whitsundays being the ultimate sailing destination I completed the Competent Crew Course on Freight Train. And this is where Matt first ‘hit’ on me which he still denies to date….: )
The love for sailing grew however being a German resident this did not allow me stay in the country. I decided to look for work around the Whitsunday Islands and was lucky enough to get sponsored by Hamilton Island. Two and a half years later we decided to experience a different type of yachting – The Super Yacht Industry. Travelling the Mediterranean and the US, I worked as Chief Stewardess/ Stewardess while Matt continued his education and freelanced as a Deckhand up to Captain’s positions. The continuous challenge of being apart and not getting jobs together strengthened our relationship and commitment to each other and after 2 years we decided that it was time to return home to Australia and this is where Matt finally popped the question – after 5 years.
Matt continued managing and working on yachts and myself, I worked in the Travel and Hospitality Industry. 2 years later our first daughter Allegra arrived and in January 2010, Maali our second little angel, came into the world. Our family is everything to us but besides Matt being out on the water a lot of the times I know from my heart that this is his passion as well as a gift. His teaching style entices you wanting to learn even more.
My job in all this is the administration side. Being German the organisational part comes second nature to me and includes the finances, emails, and sometimes decision making as Matt is a typical Libra – very un-decisive.
I hope, when you decide to travel with us that you get addicted to the same passion and love that Matt has for this sport.
See you all soon out on the water!
