About the Whitsunday Islands
The Whitsunday group of islands is located on the Central North Queensland Coast of Australia, approximately half way between Brisbane and Cairns.
Fringing coral reefs and beautiful sandy beaches surround the 74 rainforest covered islands that make up the group. Whitsunday Marine Academy's crewed sailing holidays provide guests with access to this natural wonderland under the power of sail. Snorkelling and island exploration is all part of the experience.
For the more nautical minded the islands' limits are marked on the mainland by the coastal towns of Mackay in the south (latitude 21 degrees south) and Bowen in the north (latitude 20 degrees south).
