I have a current USCG commercial Captains license, with a sail and tow endorsement, marine radio operators permit, and STCW 95, which was fine for driving boats in the US. But now that I'm traveling and working abroad I am looking to obtain a license that is more internationally recognized.

My understanding with the USCG ticket is that if again you are working on a private yacht with a Cayman or Marshall Is flag for example you should be OK provided the yachts insurance company is comfortable with your experience. My understanding is that in the Med, the MCA (Maritime Coastguard Authority) in the UK, will recognise your ticket. I think Australia will be one of the most troublesome places for you to work in the world.

I am interested in obtaining a Yachtmaster or maybe what your calling "Master of Yachts"? Can you clarify the distinction if there is one?

Yachtmaster is a mostly recreational certification. The Master of Yachts certificate is more directed to working in the Superyacht industry.  To check out our Master of Yachts courses, visit our Professional Courses page
